Franciscan Crab Restaurant

We had dinner here on 7/20/25 Just arrived in town and walked from hotel to Franciscan Restaurant. We were seated right away no waiting. Wife ordered Dungeon crab sandwich kids had Alfredo and i order the seafood combo crab, mussels & shrimp every thing was awesome. The view of Alcatraz was obstructed by some Barges and equipment on the water I would definitely go back. There was a little bit expensive and no sides are included with your meal but all in all we had a great dinner..

The sizzling seafood platter is perfect for sharing—everything’s cooked just right and full of flavor. Pair that with the amazing views, and it’s a winning combo. Dining at this historic spot is a smart choice, especially in a touristy area where good food can be hit or miss.

We stopped in here for a light lunch while visiting the city. The decor is upscale and the staff is awesome. They were attentive and friendly. We had two margaritas and about loved them. Blended perfectly. My wife and I split her calamari and a chowder bowl. They were perfect! Some of the best calamari I’ve had in a while too! Our next trip will include a dinner here!

Prices before taxes and tips. - Whole Crab (Garlic Butter) @ US$49.99 | 9.0 out of 10.0 The size of the crab was a bit small but the taste made up for the portion. Recommended for crab lovers. - Fish & Chip @ US$27.99 | 8.0 out of 10.0 Not the best fish fillet but the fries were good. - Alfredo Pasta @ US$24.99 | 9.0 out of 10.0 Pasta lovers must try. Tasted really good. Portion a bit small though. - Sand Burger @ US$23.98 | 9.0 out of 10.0 The beef patty was really good and the seasoning was tasty. I will eat again the next time I am in town. Overall a good dining experience with great service and tasty dishes.

In November 2022, the 8 of us went to the Franciscan Crab Restaurant in San Francisco for lunch. We ordered a delicious spread that included: Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, Oysters, Crab Cakes, & Crab Enchiladas. It was a special Thanksgiving weekend meal shared with family, with beautiful views of the Bay adding to the experience.

Food is amazing. It is definitely on the expensive side, but they are not stingy with the crab.Içd recommend a salad or crab fish rather than the crab meal as they have the almost the same amount of meat with none of the effort. Vibe and views were great, kinda gave retro vibes

This was an interesting experience. I have heard people saying this is a place to go for a good meal and atmosphere. The service is top table. The view and decor give you a memorable experience while waiting for your food to arrive. It has been a few years since I have ordered Sea Bass. It was well worth the wait.
